Here are the minutes of the special session:
CITY OF BLOOMFIELD
Special Council Meeting
April 3, 2007
Held in the Council Chambers of Bloomfield City Hall at 5:00 p.m. the special meeting was held in full conformity with the law and the rules of the Municipality.
Upon roll call the following were found to be present: Mayor Scott Eckstein, Councilors Lamar Morin, Lynne Raner, Kevin Mauzy and Sam Hinson.
Also present were City Manager Keith Johnson, and City Clerk Carol Miller.
Mayor Eckstein called the meeting to order. City Manager Keith Johnson gave the invocation and led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The purpose of this special meeting was to approve Ordinance #408 an ordinance authorizing the sale of real property, approve placement of monument at city hall and to hear a presentation from Mr. Johnny Ortiz regarding the Angel Peak Stampede Rodeo.
New Business
Councilor Mauzy made a presentation of a monument to display the Ten Commandments in front of Bloomfield City Hall serving as a historical and art display for the City. Several people were present from the community. Councilor Hinson made the motion to approve the placement of the monument. Councilor Raner seconded the motion. Approval was unanimous. The funding for the monument will come from private donations from the community.
Unfinished Business
Councilor Morin made the motion to approve Ordinance #408 an ordinance authorizing the sale of real property. Councilor Mauzy seconded the motion. Approval was unanimous. The approval of this ordinance will allow for the property purchased as an industrial park south of town to be sold.
Special Report
Mr. Johnny Ortiz made a presentation for the Angel Peak Stampede Rodeo Committee. They would like to bring the rodeo back to Bloomfield . They informed the Council of the plans they had for the up coming Bloomfield Days. No motions were made and further plans will be discussed and submitted to staff.
Adjournment
No other business was conducted and the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
